why farmers commit suicide?????

Now a days if we open a newspaper or watch TV news there is atleast one news of farmer commiting suicide. Is the situation is really so grave??? is there nothing left in farming??? or there is somthing else ..........I

I ve few freinds who are farmers. I ve watched there life style closly. the social weaving of this comunity is so delicate that a avrage farmer cant come out of that net.The biggest problem in my view is a marriage in this community. This people spends so much on the marriage. They borrow frm bank for farming & spends the amt on marriages,dowries & presents . Avrage invitees to marriage runs anything from 1000 or more, i am always surprised to see their purchases, these people always look @ the price tag & never for the quality or brand of the product. More the price of goods more is their social status.

Secondly the neighbours envay........(remamber the add of tv set?) if a neighbour buys maruti 800 ,they will go & buy esteem next day inspite of thiking the real utility of the vehicle . If we go to villages we ll be surprised to see the no of motor cycle or cars and the brand,i always think a well doing bussiness man may not afford the car brand which we easly see in the villages.

For all this the unending cycle of borrowing begins. Every bank, co op banks, patpedhies are applied for repying the previous loan with the hepty interests. when defaults, then private money lenders are searched. In my view very few farmer utilise the loan taken for farming for the productive purpose. most of them eat out the capital for the bussiness. The few who wiesly use the funds survives.   

I came thro a reasearch paper on this sub by an IAS officer, who has enlisted  very  shocking reasons for the situations. i ll try and write them till then let me know ur comments and views.....................  

One of my freind came to me complaing about his sons report card.
He was very upset over sons performance in mid term exams, his son is in 5 th std.. ranked 25th in a class of 35 stundents and to my surprise ........................scored 97.4% . I could only emagine the marks scored by the student who ranked first in the class and then thought WHAT NEXT............................
IF EVERY STUDENT IN A CLASS SCORES 100/100??????????
